This is a picture of the side table of Colleen Doran's studio, and what do we spy in the corner over by the colored pencils? A handmade selwit courtesy of Gail Courtney! It looks like it's making a beeline for that bagel.

There's no credit on this recipe from Faraway Dirt, an A DISTANT SOIL fanzine newsletter, but the border art is by Colleen Doran herself, of Seren and some cute selwits!

This recipe is outstanding. The only hard thing about it is the Coco Lopez, which I had a fit finding. This is my favorite cupcake recipe, and the cakes are so delicious I prefer them without frosting.

MAJOR SPOILERS!

Once again: I don't know much about this fanzine, and I have never seen it listed online anywhere. There is no publishing information, and the cover is bound on it backwards! Judging by the comments on page 1 about a new graphic novel collection, it must date to around 1997. Image Comics isn't mentioned as the publisher, but that collection was published first by Image Comics in that year, and Colleen Doran's self publishing company Aria Press was shut down after she went to Image. A Distant Soil is still published by Image Comics.

Since the 'zine has an encyclopedia of all the characters, this will come in as handy reference for the fan site! All art is by Colleen Doran and it's from the comics.

This is part II. Part I is HERE.

I am going to upload the entire 'zine in batches. Here are the first four pages. All art is by Colleen Doran.

WARNING! Lots of spoilers.

Very sweet D'mer/Seren slashy goodness! At The Bunny Farm!

Excerpt: "Seren laid his hands over D'mer's, turning his head to nuzzle at the dark throat, smelling his favorite spicy cologne and the underlying musk of D'mer's skin, threading his own hands into D'mer's thick, short locks. "I'm yours now," he affirmed, sending out a mental command to lock them in the room and keep everyone away."

Woof!
